Complan offers nutritional food supplements

Complan Shake is a "food for special medical purposes" (FSMP) and is designed for the dietary management of patients with (or at risk of) disease-related malnutrition.

Complan Shake is a nutritionally-balanced, vitamin rich, milk-based sip feed. When mixed with 200ml of whole milk, each sachet will provide 387 kcal or 1.6 kcal/ml and up to 15.6g protein.

Complan Shake is available in five flavours: vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, banana and milk.

When to prescribe
Complan Shake can be prescribed on Form FP10 (GP10 in Scotland) for the following medical conditions:

disease-related malnutrition

pre-operative preparation of patients who are undernourished

short-bowel syndrome

intractable malabsorption

proven inflammatory bowel disease

following total gastrectomy

dysphagia

bowel fistulas.

Nutrition

No other commonly prescribed oral nutritional supplement (ONS) brand contains more calories, protein and vitamins per serving than Complan Shake Original flavour.
Complan Shake provides 100% RNI (Reference Nutrient Intake) of essential vitamins in just two servings when made up with whole milk. Most other products require three servings.
